Dome of Light in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Random art for art’s sake can have the ability to make a normal place more memorable.  This is the case with Formosa Boulevard Station in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.  In the main area of the station there are two big pillars and huge paintings on the ceiling.  All of this glows with bright colors of light, hence the name Dome of Light.  This dome transforms an other wise normal train station into a tourist sight and a memorable one at that.

  2. Thank you for posting these photos of art in Kaohsiung. I used to work in the export transportation industry and thought of Kaohsiung as just a big port city. I knew nothing about it. Now I know it is very beautiful too!
